lyrics
i'm having dreams again
where i'm being sucked into the drain
i'm up and then i'm down
don't think i've ever felt so strange
and you've been losing sleep
and its because of me
give me your weight and i will carry it
but stay on land you know that i can't swim
i see you reaching for the deep end
and i'm afraid to go in over my head
well i'm trying my best
don't think i'll ever get it right
i'm getting tired of this
but i won't go down without a fight
if my feet can't reach the ground
then i am sure to drown
give me your weight and i will carry it
but stay on land you know that i can't swim
i see you reaching for the deep end
and i'm afraid to go in over my head
but when it came the time to jump in
i held my breath and counted to ten
suddenly unafraid i let
my body fall into the depths
when my feet can't reach the ground
i'll be brave and you'll be proud

Every song is a grower and this is a great album. I didn't discover it until this year (2022) or it would have easily been on my best of the year when it came out. Carlos Parlos (cp49)
As far as indie albums in the 2010's and beyond go, this is one of the most cohesive and emotive albums I've experienced looking back on it and is Jay Som's best album tokyonoir
Really the best of all of her previous work culminate here. I love seeing her apply the "character roleplay" of Be The Cowboy to her more inward tendencies seen in earlier work. robotheadache
The latest EP from Brooklyn’s Gilah is an explosion of sound and color, with oceanic guitars and dreamlike melodies. Bandcamp New & Notable Nov 14, 2020
Always finding albums like this that I wish I discovered years ago. Love, love, love this, from the simple arrangements to the Bond theme and screams of 'I know the end'. BikeBoy29
